The LC went back to the paintshop for a little finishing and while it was there, I had the chargecooler, cam cover and inlet manifold repainted in a light metallic blue/grey.

The temporary covers installed on the car have seen better days as far as finish is concerned.

The chargecooler is the first thing to come off. Next step is to block the turbo outlets to avoid any unwanted items from dropping in.

The manifold is the trickiest bit to get off. The can be made easier by removing the air conditioning evaporator (degas the air con first) and it's bracket and moving the PAS bottle and the removing the associated brackets.

The cam cover is straight-froward after that but needed persuading to move with a rubber mallet.

The new cam cover is installed with a new gasket, spark plug seals and bolt rubbers. A small amount of sealant is used around the front where the join between the head and timing cover is to avoid any oil leaks.

The inlet manifold is re-installed with new inlet gaskets and fuel rail 'O' rings. It is a good idea to use a small amount if sealant to hold the 'O' rings in place. I had to subsequently remove the manifold again due a set of cables being trapped causing a vacuum leak.
